This tutorial will show you how
to make a screenshot within WarOnline.Net and how to save
it as another format than .bmp. Just follow these few steps
and contact us, if you have any questions, comments, or additions!
Step 1:
Windows Paint is not a good
choice! You will have to get a program that's able to save
files as .jpg/.jpeg. There are several freeware/shareware
programs out there, you won't have to buy a professional program
like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.
I highly recommend everyone to
use "IrfanView". I can suggest
this great freeware tool. It has an option that automaticly
shoots and saves your screenshots to a directory of your choice.
Simply press "C" and the Capture
Setup will appear. You are able to choose any format you want!
It's a really cool feature!
<-- Download from the Irfan View site.
Or:
<-- Download from The Waronliner File Database.
Step 2:
Install your graphic program
an run it. Try around a bit to explore some option/features.
Make a new image and try to save it as .jpg. If it works,
continue to step3.
Step 3:
Open WarOnline.Net and look
for a nice screenshot. You don't have to take only map shots.
Attacking windows, tech windows, etc. are also very welcome.
Once you've found something interesting, hit ALT-PRINT. This
will copy the screen content to the virtual memory of your
computer.
Irfan View users who
use the Capture feature ("C") may simply hit their
hotkey and continue to step 6! :-)
Step 4:
Change to your graphic program
and make a new image. The width & height should be the
same as your screenshot. Normally the graphic program chooses
the correct size by itself. Otherwise you will have to enter
the values manually.
(E.g: If you're using a resolution
of 1024X768, your screenshot will normally have nearly the
same size.)
Now choose the paste option
or hit CTRL-V (STRG-V) to paste the screenshot into the empty
image.
Irfan View users may
choose whatever image size they like. Once you paste content
into Irfan View image, it will automaticly have the correct
height & width! ;-)
Step 5:
Save your screenshot as .jpg
or .jpeg file. If the graphic program asks what quality you
want for the image, choose something between 40% and 70%.
Step 6:
You're done! Once you've saved
your image to your HD, you can use our upload
script to upload your screenshots directly to
our server.
Don't
forget to give your image a unique name! |
